News & Announcements

Here’s a look at the week ahead :

Fall Calendar 2017 Surveys: Do you want your voices to be heard on implementing a new school year start date? Every family with a child/children in PreK-12 traditional elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as, primary centers, early education centers, special education and/or primary centers will receive a paper survey packet to be sent home. If a family has more than one child enrolled in LAUSD schools, the survey is sent home with the oldest sibling.  An online survey option is also available for families. Details can be found in the parent letter included in the survey packet. The survey should be completed by September 28th.

Thank you to families that have donated to our annual Pledge Drive.  No amount is too large or too small. All donations will go towards school programs and resources for our students. The class with the highest participation will be recognized! Thank you in advance to families that have pledged!

Special thank you to the Reiner Family for our first art banner display.

The RAMS visits Playa del Rey
On Wednesday, September 13, 2017 PDR students and staff participated in the RAMS Play 60 Challenge Assembly. This was a fun 45-minute assembly that promotes fitness and health in a game-show format. We had (6) 5th grade participants who shared their knowledge about the importance of health and fitness while the student-body cheered them on.

All the questions were centered around healthy food choices, and good health and fitness routines.  The game show also incorporated fun challenges that varied between different physical activities, team-building activities, and fun “minute to win it” style activities. Everyone loved Rampage, the Rams team mascot, who was there to help make this assembly the most fun and kick off a healthy challenge for the 2017-2018 school year!!! The team dance-off was exciting too. All participants won 2 tickets to the Rams game on Sunday.   A special thank you to the Lewis Family for helping to coordinate the event.
